π¨ REMINDER β ONLY ONE WEEK TO HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE SEVENOAKS LOCAL PLAN 2042! π¨
β° DEADLINE: THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2026
If you haven't submitted your Regulation 19 response yet, PLEASE don't leave it until the last minute.
This is our last formal opportunity to have our say before the Plan goes to examination β and we need as many individual responses as possible.
π Submit your response here:
https://www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/info/20069128/emerging_local_plan
β You do NOT need to be a planning expert
The strongest responses aren't simply βI don't want more houses.β
Explain what concerns you, where you live/use the roads, what you personally experience and what evidence you have.
For example, you can raise concerns about:
π Traffic, congestion and highway capacity
π¦ Junction 3 and surrounding roads
ποΈ Access to proposed developments and the impact on existing residential roads
π§ Water supply, sewage, drainage and flooding
π« Schools and nursery places
π₯ GPs and healthcare provision
π Public transport and railway infrastructure
π Emergency services
π³ Green Belt, landscape and the rural setting
π¦ Wildlife, hedgerows, mature trees and biodiversity
If you regularly experience queues, parking problems, poor visibility, dangerous pedestrian conditions, flooding or standing water, say exactly where, when and what you see. Your local knowledge matters.
πΈ Photographs, traffic diaries, wildlife sightings and other local evidence can all help - attach them as your evidence.
π DON'T FORGET NOT JUST PEDHAM PLACE
If you're responding about the Pedham Place (ST5-2), please also consider the potential impact needs to be considered cumulatively, particularly alongside the proposed Swanley and Horton Kirby & South Darenth, West Kingsdown and Hextable sites and the pressures on Junction 3, roads, infrastructure, water, drainage and other services of all of these in the area.
Together, these could mean thousands of additional homes, with cumulative implications for roads, schools, water, health services, drainage and other infrastructure.
π¦ KENT WILDLIFE TRUST HAS ALSO RESPONDED
Kent Wildlife Trust has submitted its own response to the Sevenoaks Local Plan 2042, raising important concerns about the implications of the proposed allocations for wildlife, habitats, biodiversity and the wider natural environment.
Their response is well worth reading before you submit yours. It provides an important independent perspective and may help you identify issues and evidence that you could raise in your own Regulation 19 response.

Please don't simply copy it β use it to inform your own response and put your concerns in your own words.
π NEED HELP WITH WHAT TO WRITE?
There is guidance available on the Farningham Parish Council website, and we've also pinned/featured useful documents here in Protect Our Green Belt Together.
π Farningham Parish Council Local Plan 2042 guidance:
https://www.farninghamparishcouncil.gov.uk/page-sevenoaks_local_plan_2042.html
Please use the guidance as a starting point, but put things into YOUR OWN WORDS and include your own experiences.
And if you can't find something you need, just ask! If you need local photographs or other evidence to support your response, please message me β we may be able to help.
π PLEASE DON'T ASSUME SOMEONE ELSE WILL RESPOND
It really does matter that individual residents submit their own representations AND EVERY RESPONSE COUNTS.
If you care about the future of our villages, our roads, our Green Belt, our infrastructure and the character of the area, please take the time to make sure your voice is formally recorded.
β° DEADLINE: THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2026
Please share this post and remind anyone you know who needs to respond.
π One week left. Please don't leave it until the last day. Please donβt leave this to the last minute, since your response to SDC may take a little time to pull together and the system has slowed down historically. We suggested 1.5hrs for Reg. 18. Reg.19 may take a little longer.
πΏ LET'S MAKE THIS COUNT β AND WIN THE PLANNING INSPECTOR OVER!
Let's NOT let Pedham Place make it as far as planning permission.
This is our opportunity to build the strongest possible case NOW β with facts, evidence, local knowledge and individual voices.
Let's show the Planning Inspector why these proposals should not go ahead as currently planned.
π Every response counts. Every voice matters.
Let's stand together, make our case and give the Planning Inspector no reason to overlook the very real impacts on our communities, roads, infrastructure, Green Belt, National Landscapes, and countryside.
β Let's do this β and let's win the Planning Inspector over.
Deadline: THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2026
Please submit your response, share this post and encourage others to do the same.
